Google is going to release the Page Experience update for desktop search results in February 2022.
Earlier launched for mobile search, this update is expected to launch at beginning of Feb 2022 and will go in full swing at the end of March 2022.

In May 2021, Jeffrey Jose, product manager at Google, confirmed the launch of Page Experience Update for desktop.
He said,” I am happy to announce that we are bringing page experience ranking to desktop. While we’re launching page experience on mobile soon, we believe page experience is critical no matter the surface the user is browsing the web. This is why we’re working hard on bringing page experience ranking to desktop.”
How Google Page Experience for Desktop Can Work?
If you have created separate desktop and mobile URLs, this Page Experience update will only be applied to the desktop URL.
What Ranking Signals Desktop Page Experience Can Include?
It will come with all the current signals of the mobile version except for the mobile-friendliness requirement. It means that your site can still rank even if it hasn’t been optimized for mobiles.

To let you track the performance of your website with regard to the Page Experience update, Google is going to add a new report to Search Console to help track the performance of desktop pages under this page experience update. This report is likely to be available before March 2022.
