New algorithm updates are going live now, including the December 2021 merchandise reviews update. Google has rolled out a second product review update this year; their first was in April 2021.

According to Search Engine Land, the update is “designed to better reward” product reviews that provide “insightful analysis rather than thin content that merely summarizes a bunch of products.” Google said that reviews that offer “original analysis and detailed analysis” may be appreciated, particularly from “experts or enthusiasts who have a strong understanding” of the topic.

It is possible that your rankings will even improve if you make any changes between now and the final update. You may see improvements in your content reflected in this latest release if you’ve made positive changes to your website.

Further, Google disclosed that it has gathered feedback from users regarding what type of content is perceived as being trustworthy and useful. The new Google product reviews update aims to publish first-rate content above and beyond the type of data you find on the internet. Some of these product reviews will be promoted in Google’s search results rankings.

When you provide lower high-quality product opinions and find that your ranking is demoted as a result of other content material being elevated over yours, you’ll actually experience it as a penalty.   • How does the product perform within these areas? What are the most important decision factors for its class? Taking the automotive industry into consideration, an automobile evaluation may find that gas economic system, safety, and handling are critical elements and that they are price efficient.
  • How has a product been designed and its impact on customers gone beyond what a producer may claim to have done?
